See if these words
sound familiar: “I’ve been really good, so I deserve …” What do you think
you deserve? Chocolate cake? A glass of wine? Potato chips? An ice-cold
beer? Let me let you in on a little secret: you don’t deserve anything,
because you could have had it anyway.

change your lifestyle and change the type and quantity of foods that you
That means no food is off limits--you just have to control the amount and
the frequency. You measure it, assess how many calories from the label, and
you make it part of your meal plan. Chips? One ounce--and I understand how
little that is--equals one Fat Selection. Beer? One bottle of light beer is
also one Fat Selection.
As I said, there are no foods that are off limits. Just make sure you
control the food and that the food never again starts controlling you.
