Day 23
Chester J. Zelasko, Ph.D. | June 23, 2008

See if these words sound familiar: “I’ve been really good, so I deserve …” What do you think you deserve? Chocolate cake? A glass of wine? Potato chips? An ice-cold beer? Let me let you in on a little secret: you don’t deserve anything, because you could have had it anyway.

Remember the goal of the 30 Day Plan or any other weight-loss program: it’s to help you change your lifestyle and change the type and quantity of foods that you eat.

That means no food is off limits--you just have to control the amount and the frequency. You measure it, assess how many calories from the label, and you make it part of your meal plan. Chips? One ounce--and I understand how little that is--equals one Fat Selection. Beer? One bottle of light beer is also one Fat Selection.

As I said, there are no foods that are off limits. Just make sure you control the food and that the food never again starts controlling you.
